Handwriting Instruction in Schools (Recommendations for Kindergarten)

Not only is handwriting an important skill for communication, but it also helps students build a strong foundation for literacy success. Because of this, a lack of explicit handwriting instruction during students’ formative years can be a cause for concern.

To gather data about how handwriting instruction is delivered in kindergarten classrooms, a group of researchers conducted a study of 238 kindergarten students and 21 teachers.
