Summary of the Book

“In the following chapters, I share some of the lessons from our work together.  Starting with our first experimental steps and expanding as we added new tools and content over several years, we built a foundation that continues to evolve with each class of students.  I’ve designed the book to show you how to weave technology into common writing standards for the intermediate grades. …At the beginning of each chapter, I have summarized the standards, skills and technology applications addressed within that chapter.  I did this to make it easier to find quick connections to your curriculum…Whether you have an open-ended curriculum or very prescriptive subject requirements…you will find tools and projects that can raise the roof on learning in your classroom and have your students begging to skip lunch and keep writing.” Ramsay, 2011.
