Zaner-Bloser Handwriting Implementation Training

This session prepares all teachers who are new to Zaner-Bloser Handwriting or new to a grade level to implement the program. Training is provided for grade-level spans.

This session prepares all teachers who are new to Spelling Connections or new to a grade level to implement the program. Training is provided for grade-level spans.

Literacy Best Practices Seminars

These standards-based seminars are designed to deepen educators’ knowledge of specific literacy topics related to Zaner-Bloser programs.

Writing to Communicate: Using the Six Traits in the Writing Process

This session will explore the traits and their relationship to the writing process. It is appropriate for grades 1–6 educators, and content can be grade- or grade-span-specific, based on need.

Why and How of Teaching Handwriting

During this interactive session, participants will learn how to provide explicit, developmentally appropriate instruction; use specific academic language; practice modeling techniques for manuscript- and cursive-letter formation; and employ instructional best practices to meet the needs of all students. Participants will also explore the handwriting-literacy connection, the stages of writing and developmental guidelines, and the importance of self-assessment in handwriting.
